The atmosphere here is cozy and inviting, and the cleanliness is impressive—no bad smells and spotless restrooms. However, security is a concern. I witnessed a theft incident and experienced issues with unregistered guests in the dorm room. The location is decent, with quick subway access, making it easy to explore the city, but be cautious with personal belongings.

Friendly staff and clean facilities. great spot for solo travellers
only one lift is not enough for so many guests, and common areas were a bit too warm. 🥵

Staying here with my friends was awesome! We enjoyed a walking tour that introduced us to hidden gems and explored a local market with delicious food. The communal kitchen is great for cooking together, and there are fun activities like pub crawls to meet other travelers. Just be ready for crowds!
I had a tough time when I arrived late at night. My bed was taken, and I had to wait for it to be cleaned, which was really annoying.

Solo traveler pros and cons
Definitely enjoyed how clean the bathrooms were, always saw staff working hard to keep everything tidy. The kitchen area was fantastic, had everything I needed to whip up a meal, felt like home cooking!
It wasn't exactly cheap but still manageable.

central park and museums just minutes away from this hostel
During my stay, I loved being just a 10-minute walk from Central Park and having the Met Museum only a 15-minute stroll away, making it so easy to enjoy the city's beauty and culture. the amenities were solid too, with lots of cafes and food options around to fuel my adventures! but the hostel could really improve on providing more detailed information for travelers about the local area.

The location of Hi is exceptional, nestled close to Central Park, providing easy access to various attractions. The common spaces are well-designed and conducive to socializing, and I particularly enjoyed participating in the comedy night event, which fostered a lively atmosphere. Water fountains were conveniently located, which was great for staying hydrated.
The mattress in my room was uncomfortable and needs replacement.

Perfect spot in NYC!
I had such a blast! The location is so central, just a few blocks from the subway. The lounge areas are super cozy for hanging out. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly. The only thing I’d change is adding curtains to the beds for more privacy. Oh, and the snack bar was a nice touch too!

The hostel offered a vibrant atmosphere for solo travelers but
It lacked a bit in terms of quiet spaces for relaxation. The communal areas were lively and friendly, but if you're looking for solitude, it might be challenging at times. a great place to connect with others.
